Where is the Full Moon Party?

The party takes place on Haad Rin Nok (Sunrise Beach) at the southern tip of Koh Phangan. Wherever you're staying on the island, you'll need transport to get there — and the roads, especially the Thong Sala–Haad Rin hill, get very busy on party nights.

Getting there

  • By private minivan: the most comfortable option — collected from your hotel and dropped near Haad Rin. Agree a pickup time for later, too.
  • By songthaew: shared trucks run to Haad Rin on party nights, at higher-than-usual fares. Expect queues and full trucks.
  • By boat: from beaches like Haad Yuan, Haad Thian and even Koh Samui, party boats and taxi boats run to Haad Rin during the event.

Getting home — the important bit

When the party winds down, thousands of people all want a ride at once, and haggling for transport at 4am after a long night is nobody's idea of fun. The solution is simple: arrange your return before you go out. Agree a pickup point and a rough time with Mr M, and your ride will be there — no stress, fixed price, safe driver.

Please don't ride a scooter to or from the party. The Haad Rin hill is steep and dangerous, and drink-driving accidents spike on party nights. A pre-booked minivan is the safe choice.
